BAE, which employs more than 10,000 people in the north west, declined to comment, saying that that the "negotiations regarding the potential procurements of Typhoon jets for the Royal Saudi Airforce are between the governments of the UK and Saudi Arabia.
BAE was subject to a long-running investigation by the UK's Serious Fraud Office (SFO) into the group's dealings with Saudi officials, although the inquiry was controversially called off by the Government last December.

BAE Systems are continuing lightning strike and structural testing at their facilities at Warton in Lancashire and Brough in Yorkshire.
