Cooper creates a baseketball which is a giant baseball made out of cotton and stitching.
In the championship game of baseketball, Cooper is "faked out" and misses the game wining shot when he watches Ted Denslow choke on a hotdog.

 Cranky Critic® Movie Reviews: BASEketball
They are not, on the other hand, the writers of BASEketball, which is a terribly unfunny hundred minutes of waiting for the next joke.
Jasmine Bleeth and Jenny McCarthy are the sex objects, and their purpose is to set up a lot of jokes which I couldn't describe here, even if I were of a mind to give 'em away.
The weirdest thing is that, while watching BASEketball, Cranky felt a gnawing at the back of what passes for his brain telling him that he'd seen all this before.

BASEketball works so well for a simple reason: beneath all the sight gags, sex jokes, pop-culture references, and celebrity cameos (all of which are funny), it is a surprisingly perceptive look at sports in American society.
From the opening montage, it is clear that BASEketball is premised upon the commercialization (and some would say corruption) of American sports, setting the stage for its redemption by the starry-eyed fans played by Parker and Stone.
Baseketball is about a group of friends who form a winning team and experiences the trials and tribu.....ah who care!

BASEketball is stitched together like Coop Cooper’s homemade ball, with the skin of a Lazyboy.
Here’s the pitch: these loser dudes in desperation to compete in a pickup two-on-two of basketball at a high school reunion party invent a new series of rules to find the bass (sic) to victory.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone are left to sail the ball through the hoop in all the crucial situations.

CNN - Review: Choking, but not from laughter, after 'BASEketball' - August 4, 1998
After about 20 minutes of this I felt like grabbing her in a headlock and dragging her to a video store to rent a Marx Brothers tape, but (even in the dark) I could see that she was pretty big, so I opted instead for riding out the picture.
But "BASEketball," incredibly enough, drops the enterprise another rung down comedy's evolutionary ladder, and I'm sure connoisseurs all over this great country of ours will be applauding the descent as a breakthrough.
I don't begrudge them their success (and they seem like good guys, so I honestly wish them nothing but the best) but it seems to me that there's too many very talented people out there for us to be anointing a couple of glorified booger-wipers as the new keepers of the comic flame.

 SPLICEDwire: "BASEketball" review
The rest of the picture is a random succession of middling slapstick bits coupled with Coop's clumsy courting of an children's charity director, underwritten and (surprise!) underacted by Yasmine Bleeth.
"BASEketball" runs into trouble in part because it's obvious Parker and Stone were making up most of their dialogue as they went along.
"BASEketball" has about 30 minutes worth of good laughs, but because it's been stretched to 98 minutes it feels like a ride in a small plane with two rookie pilots.

Mutant Reviewers from Hell do "BASEketball"
I was a little worried about BASEketball when I first rented it because, although I couldn't imagine anyone else in the universe playing Coop and Reemer, I knew that Parker and Stone hadn't actually written the screenplay and that David Zucker had pretty much lost me back at Airplane!
In BASEketball, there are these two losers (Stone and Parker pretty much playing themselves) who have basically done nothing with their lives.
One of the best parts of BASEketball is that the opposing team is allowed to psyche out the person who's shooting the basket.

``BASEketball'' is a major missed opportunity from the creators of the TV grosstoon ``South Park.'' It starts promisingly as an attack on modern commercialized sports, and then turns into just one more wheezy assembly-line story about slacker dudes vs. rich old guys.
And I guess it's sort of funny when the guys both fall for the sexy head of the Dreams Come True Foundation (Yasmine Bleeth) and treat her sick kids to a day with their baseketball heroes (the high point: Sitting in a bar watching Jerry Springer on TV).
The preview audience laughed when the guys visit poor little Joey after his liver transplant, inadvertently sit on his air tube and fry him with defibrillators; the jaundiced attitude toward the deaths of kids is straight from ``South Park,'' where little Kenny dies weekly, and has been consumed by scavengers right on the screen.

It can't challenge There's Something About Mary in the lowball humor department, but the movie that lets America know what the deranged geniuses behind South Park actually look like has enough jokes to sustain a 80-minute movie.
Unfortunately, that's 20 minutes less than BASEketball runs.
Trey Parker and especially the gregarious, goofy Matt Stone are engaging enough on the screen, and their edgy humor pokes through in a few places, but the ruling spirit here is much tamer than South Park's rocket-fuel iconoclasm; the casting of Ernest Borgnine, Robert Stack, Yasmine Bleeth and Jenny McCarthy should tell you that.
