BBC jazz coverage is considerably better than it was a few years back.
Might be of interest, that, as for jazz on Radio 3, I recall two years ago doing battle with a radio reviewer on a Sunday newspaper who procaimed that his ambition was to rid Radio 3 of 'all that hated jazz music'.
He maintained that Radio 3 should more or less be the domain of classical music and nothing else, and jazz should be confined to Radio 2.

At a meeting on June 23 the BBC was presented with a claim from the staff unions for an increase 2% above the current rate of inflation, with a minimum increase of £1,000 to assist members on low pay.
Despite a 4.5% increase in the BBC's licence fee this year, the Corporation's main source of income, management argued that pay restraint was needed, not least because of a need to raise £155 million by the end of 2006 to clear the BBC's overdraft.
The BBC refused to reveal whether senior executives had received generous bonuses once more, claiming that the information was confidential until publication of the BBC's Annual Report, expected in mid-July.

For Radio 3, Through the Night is the last programme of the day, but of course it stretches forward till 7am UK time the next day.
However, the BBC website schedule servers for all networks update at midnight, so from then on the website will be showing the TTN schedule for the next day.

Hello! I would just like to alert your sites patrons to the BBC documentary "Blood on the Turntables" shown this morning on BBC 3 (10th September) The documentry provides an extremely interesting take on the late 80's gangster rap scene, and is almost the perfect compliment to San Andreas.
remember bbc 3 is only on from 7 pm to 4 am.

I really hate to tell you this but mho that 10" plate is too much for your hull, rule of thumb 17-18' boat 6" plate, 18-19' boat 8" plate 20+ 8-10" plate.

I was a bit surprised that they were repeating the prog as it's 'old news' although it's true that it generated a lot of press interest at the time as it featured the survey of masts near/on schools.
I fail to see how a legal reason could prevent transmission a day after the programme was actually transmitted but then the media moves in a mysterious way.

The BBC said in a statement that it chose Siemens Business Services because of its commitment to invest in technology services and innovation, all with "significant projected annual cost savings." The company had stated in the past that it expected the outsourcing deal to save it $40 million to $50 million a year.
The Siemens deal still has to be approved by the BBC governors and the European Commission.
BBC Technology, founded in March 2001, is made up of 1,400 employees worldwide and provides content and a variety of services for the BBC and other global media outlets.
