		The BBC Asian Network, which broadcasts in the Midlands and north-west of England, has its own news operation, and the station is being expanded to cover the whole country on digital radio later this year.
		Bob Shennan, the network's controller, said there was a feeling that the BBC was not covering a section of its audience adequately enough, and his station would do more to give prominence to stories and issues that were either being underplayed or missed altogether.
