  BBC: Living in a Bubble
In January, criticisms made of the BBC in a report by an official commission set up by the U.K. government ("the Hutton enquiry") in regard to its Iraq-war coverage, were so scathing that both the chairman of the board of governors of the BBC and its director-general had little choice but to resign.
Instead the BBC reminded us that Reagan was "a B movie actor," and stated that as president his "foreign policy was criticised for being in disarray." Accompanying photos were not of Reagan meeting Gorbachev, but of Oliver North, and of the invasion of Grenada ("a clumsy sham," according to the BBC text).
BBC Online for example, last Saturday, gave the impression that al-Sudais was nothing but a benign, kindly cleric promoting (to quote the BBC) "community cohesion" between Muslims and their neighbors.

From Tuscany to Tibet to Texas, huddling around a shortwave radio to listen to the BBC is for millions a tradition that dates back to the days when the sun never set on the British Empire.
BBC officials say the Internet and digital satellite radio, where the World Service will still be available, are making shortwave obsolete in developed markets like the United States.
As the BBC expands into new media and updates its shortwave transmitters in developing countries, the cancellation of shortwave in some regions was a tough but necessary business decision, says Jerry Timmins, head of the World Service's Americas region.

Global warming results from the greenhouse effect caused by, amongst other things, excessive amounts of greenhouse gases in the earth's atmosphere from fossil fuel burning.
The answers that global dimming models seemed to provide, the documentary noted, has led to a chilling conclusion: “what came out of our exhaust pipes and power stations [from Europe and North America] contributed to the deaths of a million people in Africa, and afflicted 50 million more” with hunger and starvation.
Climatologists are stressing that the roots of both global dimming causing pollutants and global warming causing greenhouse gases have to be dealt with together and soon.
