BBC Radio Lincolnshire is the BBC Local Radio service for the English county of Lincolnshire—apart from the northern parts of the county, which are covered by BBC Radio Humberside.
It was the only local radio station in Lincolnshire until 1992, when Lincs FM began (it has since expanded its company), also broadcast from Belmont.
John Inverdale, now presenter of national sports programmes on BBC Television and BBC Radio Five Live, started his radio career as a morning presenter from 1982-5, having worked briefly at the Lincolnshire Echo.

The first commercial radio station for Derby didn't appear until the late 1980s, and was targeted at the BBC's audience of Derbyshire and East Staffordshire - not surprisingly, the station was operated by Radio Trent from Nottingham.
Part of their 'fan radio network', the only way this service could be heard was through television in the home, hence restricting potential audience to SKY subscribers living in the allocated area on audio sub-carrier 12320 Vertical.
Radio Robin operated an RSL to celebrate the station's fifth birthday and it is understood that it is looking to provide a further service to raise funds for the station and to promote the station itself, in the future.

One of Radio Cambridgeshire's most popular presenters, Richard Spendlove, claims to have the longest running chat show in broadcasting; his Saturday night show has run since the late 1980s and is heard on several BBC local radio stations across the Eastern Counties.
The BBC Coventry and Warwickshire name was first used, however, for an opt-out service of Radio WM from May 1995, which replaced the area's first BBC radio station, CWR; this became known as 'BBC WM across Coventry and Warwickshire' around 2001.
Radio Gloucestershire lost many of its listeners in 1992 when the Home Office reclaimed its AM frequency (FM reception is poor in some areas due to the hilly nature of the county); but after much government debate a new AM frequency of 1413kHz was eventually allocated to the station.

This was an open-air concert held in Derby marketplace as part of the Big City Bash, a 2 week arts extravaganza.

The BBC is planning an early roll-out of the Asian Network on a further five local radio stations.
The frequencies are 774 (Leeds), 855 and 1557 (Lancashire), 1035 (Sheffield), 1116 (Derby) and 1026 and 1449 (Cambridgeshire).
