Then there was the case a couple of years ago when Tanni Grey Thompsen won the 3rd place overall award in one of the most blatant displays of positive discrimination of all time.
Disabled sport was high on the agenda that year, and she was receiving a huge amount of coverage...
Actually if this is rigged in any way, I think its often because the bbc tend to isolate individuals, who in fairness are often at the peak of their relative careers and they are quite frequently (in fact I reckon almost invariably) the winners.
