BBC White City Summer is a season of events running in the Media Village on Wood Lane W12 (near the A40 Westway).
The 2004 programme kicked off in style on 16th April, as BBC White City Summer became part of the Hammersmith and Fulham festival.
The BBC continues to work closely with many of the local schools and residents, as well as the borough, to showcase their groups over the next few months.

White City is a place in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
Home to the BBC Television Centre and BBC White City, it was level arable farmfields until it became the site of the Franco-British Exhibition and the Olympic Games in 1908 and the Japan-British Exhibition in 1910.
It was known at that time as the White City due to the white marble cladding used on the exhibition pavillions, and hence gave its name to this part of Shepherd's Bush.

White City Stadium[[1]], built in London, England, for the 1908 Summer Olympics, was the first purpose-built Olympic stadium[[2]].
From 1927, the track was grassed over to be used for greyhound racing and speedway, while in 1931, a new 440yd running track was installed for the AAA Championships, which were held there from 1932 to 1970.
In the first years of the 21st century there were rumours that a new stadium might be built in the White City area, possibly for Fulham alone or to share with QPR.
