BBC One - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
BBC One (or BBC1 as it was formerly styled) is the oldest television station in the world.
It is the primary channel of the British Broadcasting Corporation, and first broadcast as the 'BBC Television Service' on November 2, 1936, although the BBC had been broadcasting experimental and test transmissions in a variety of formats since 1929.
This was the first BBC1 identity to appear in multiple versions; the balloon was seen floating over numerous British landscapes, and in later variations, superimposed on more distant locations including Sydney (during the 2000 Summer Olympics) and even prehistoric Earth (when Walking with Dinosaurs was broadcast).

I am currently working on a BBC1 consumer programme documenting the experiences of British people buying property in France and would like to hear from anyone with views and experience on the subject.
Against a backdrop of what life abroad can be like, BBC1 intends to expose the problems and cons that plague so many British buyers by looking at case studies, with input from experts and those who work in the property business.
We, for BBC1, are trying to move away from that to provide a constructive consumer programme.

Breakfast News attempts to portray BBC1 as modern and urbane, able to see through the hyperbole and deliver to its audience intelligent, fast paced programming.
Much of the content is recycled on this frequency, but the latter part of the programme does become slightly more discursive, and by 8.30am, things are positively lugubrious as we enter magazine territory complete with a wry look at the papers and a science bit (and yet another plug for a BBC programme).
