		KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives opened higher in line with the stronger cash market, dealers said.
		At 9.30am, spot month Feb'06 gained 2.5 points to 931.0 while March'06 was two points higher at 929.0.
		On the cash market, the underlying Composite Index (CI) increased 3.17 points to 928.68 after opening 0.31 of a point higher at 925.82.

		NARATHIWAT, Sept 15 (Bernama) -- A fisheries assistant in the Terengganu Fisheries Department and his Thai friend, were shot dead by an unidentified man at Tak Bai, in the restive southern province of Narathiwat Friday.
		Che Ayub Yaakub, 54, from Kampung Perupok, Bachok and his friend, a village chief, were travelling along a road in Tak Bai when the assailant, who was trailing from behind, tried to overtake their car.
		A witness who declined to be named told Bernama the incident happened when the assailant tried to overtake the car driven by the village chief, also known as Yusuf, after passing the Kampung Kokje bridge at Tak Bai.

		MELBOURNE, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- Israel has recalled its ambassador to Australia to investigate comments he reportedly made on Asians, The Age newspaper reported.
		Ambassador Naftali Tamir was believed to have been in Singapore on his way to Australia after a short holiday in Israel, when he received instructions to return immediately, the newspaper said.
		Tamir is also ambassador to Papua New Guinea, Fiji and New Zealand, where diplomatic relations were restored last year after Israel formally apologised over an incident in which two alleged Mossad agents tried to obtain New Zealand passports fraudulently in 2004.

		IPOH, Sept 15 (Bernama) -- Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy said the government would ensure the double-tracking electrification railway project from Ipoh to Rawang, is completed by 2008 under its new schedule.
		He said the project would be closely monitored and supervised to ensure that it is fully completed as scheduled, given that the main mode of transportation for containers to the nation's ports is through the railway.
		ICT aims to increase the usage of railway services to 70 per cent and 30 per cent by road, he said, adding that it expected to achieve the target upon completion of the Ipoh-Rawang railway project.

		KUCHING, Feb 25 (Bernama) -- Found mainly in Sungai Saribas in Spaoh, Betong Division, the ikan buntal or pufferfish, is a local delicacy in Malay villages in the coastal areas despite its reputation as a highly toxic fish.

	Separatists ready to drop demand for independence : Bernama
		Bernama quoted PGPO executive director Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, who was involved in the talks, as saying the content of the draft was agreed by both sides during the talks and that the Thai government has yet to respond, probably due to the political situation in the country.
		In fact, the separatists have agreed to the content and is ready to sign, we are just waiting for the Thai Government to give the goahead," he told Bernama.
