BFBS Radio also provides programmes in Gurkhali, for the Gurkha units serving with the British Army.

BFBS Television is encrypted in some areas for copyright reasons, as it is intended solely for HM Forces and their families.

Although Richard has travelled extensively with BFBS, he spent 12 years in Germany, ten of which were in Cologne where he became well known in the 70’s for his "Housewives Show", broadcast daily from the studios in the Cologne suburb of Marienburg.
