The reason I bring it up now is that The Perfect BLT requires the Perfect T...er, tomato, and by definition those are only available for a few weeks every year, which is right now.
Cut sandwich in half with a serrated knife, preferably on a wood surface, and eat immediately.
Though a well-made BLT tastes good anytime, I find that I get the maximum impact of flavors at breakfast on weekends.
