  BMAT: Frequently Asked Questions - Centres
A candidate should take the BMAT in the admissions cycle in which they are applying to university, so this year, applicants applying in the 07/08 admissions cycle will be required to register for and sit the BMAT this October.
Please email the BMAT Support Team with your school/name, email address and the position you hold at the school, briefly outlining your reasons for wishing to become a registered BMAT centre.
The BMAT universities feel that as a test for candidates wishing to study medicine/physiological sciences and veterinary science within the UK, it is not appropriate for a bi-lingual dictionary to be used.

 BMAT – A Binary Matching Tool
BMAT allows us to propagate profile information from an older, extensively profiled build to a newer build, thus greatly reducing or even eliminating the need for re-profiling.
To evaluate the quality of results, we propose two evaluation metrics: the ability of the propagated profile information to perform static branch prediction, and the extent to which propagated code coverage information matches coverage data from the current build.
The running time of BMAT is small, under four minutes for a 5.5MB sized program on a Pentium II 200MHz machine.

The BMAT entry fee is £27.30 within the UK and £51.00 elsewhere for entries made by 28th September 2007.

The BMAT and LNAT are the only tests that have to be taken before the interview.
BMAT stands for ‘Bio-Medical Admissions Test’ and is sat by all candidates for Medical and Veterinary Sciences on November 1st.

The deadline for BMAT registrations is Thursday 30 September 2004.
BMAT is used by the universities of Cambridge, Bristol and the Royal Veterinary College as a method for establishing the thinking skills of students to help them choose between many high calibre candidates and match the right candidate to the right university.
UCLES also advised prospective veterinary students to talk to their school or college's examination officer and visit the BMAT website to find out how to register.
