In nursery rhymes, parents may well be passing on to children meanings and social theories that they didn't even know existed.
The meaning of the rhyme exists like a meme inside the rhyme itself, surviving extinction only because of its particular evolutionary characteristics, which have enhanced its chances of survival, and those characteristics are its satisfying sound.
But people have looked for meanings for many centuries and have been putting meanings onto the nursery rhymes, so one of the things I tried do with the book was to, if you like, shake out some of the more outlandish theories, but in some cases it was worth mentioning that they existed.

I think they're applying the proverbial phrase "fl sheep of the family" to the nursery rhyme, and mistakenly giving it a racist connotation which it doesn't have.
"This metaphor [the "fl sheep of the family"] is based on the idea that fl sheep were less valuable than white ones because it was more difficult to dye their wool different colors.
Thus the fact that the fl sheep had "three bags full" was not good news for his master, his dame, or the lttle boy who lived in the lane.

Dvorak Uncensored » “Baa, Baa, Black Sheep” Now Deemed Offensive
Teachers at nursery schools in Oxfordshire, England, have asked children to change the words of ‘Baa, Baa, Black Sheep’ to ‘Baa, Baa, Rainbow Sheep’ to avoid the possibility of offending anyone.
The nursery rhyme dates back to the mid-1700s and is related to a tax imposed on wool by the king, which divided receipts equally between the local lord (the master), the church (the dame), and the farmer (the little boy).
Why can’t the teachers teach the students that: Black wool was worth less money because you could dye it, fl sheep produce as much wool as white sheep, and both colors of sheep get molested by hillbillies.

For example, try to recite the nursery rhyme 'Baa baa fl sheep, Have you any wool ?' When you come to the syllable 'bl' in the phrase 'fl sheep' (or 'woo' in the word 'wool') you are hitting a higher 'tone' compared to 'Baa baa'.
The first fl key, for example, is called 'C sharp' (C #) or 'D flat' (Db) - it is obvious that 'sharpening' essentially is a technical term for being 'one key higher' and similarly 'flattening' is one key lower in frequency than the white key in the prefix.
For example, in the nursery rhyme 'Baa baa fl sheep' there are four 'notes', namely 'baa', 'baa', 'fl' and 'sheep'.
