Leyte 1st district Rep. Remedios "Matin" Petilla and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Regional Director Gil A. Adora led the mayors and townsfolk of Babatngon in the launching rites, which were highlighted by a short program, ceremonial ribbon cutting and stocking with bangus fingerlings.
The mariculture zone is situated at the Leyte side of the San Juanico Strait along the waters of barangays Uban, Guintigian, Makasuang, Sampitan, Gov. Jaro, Planza, Taguictic, Malibago, Rizal I, San Isidro, Bakong, San Ricardo, and Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Babatngon town.
