- (1) The ordinary elections of all councillors of the district of Babergh shall be held simultaneously on the ordinary day of election of non-metropolitan district councillors in 2003[5] and every fourth year after 2003.
Prints of the map may be inspected at all reasonable times at the offices of Babergh Council and at the offices of the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, 2nd Floor, Ashdown House, 123 Victoria Street, London SWIE 6DE.

 Babergh Calls in Architects for Damaged Loos   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
Babergh District Council, aware of local concerns about continued vandalism to the Magdalen Road public toilets in Hadleigh, has written to the architects to see how the 'vandal resistant' structure can be repaired.
Babergh is currently monitoring CCTV footage in an attempt to identify the vandals, but is also keen to repair the damage as quickly as possible to deter further destruction.
“Babergh backed the design on the basis that it would be vandal resistant and we are keen to explore how to put the damage right at no extra cost to Council Taxpayers.

Babergh District Council has today instructed Leisure Connection Ltd. to temporarily shut Hadleigh’s swimming pool pending further investigations into higher than expected chlorine levels in the water.
Babergh’s Environmental Health team was called at 1.41pm today by a member of the public who was experiencing eye irritation after having swum in the pool earlier in the day.
Two Babergh officers immediately went to the pool and on discovering higher than acceptable levels of chlorine in the water immediately requested the closure of the pool as a prudent measure pending further investigations.

Babergh district council has been forced to landfill about 1,000 tonnes of material from residents' recycling bins in the last year because it was contaminated, officers said.
Although the council has one of the best recycling rates in the country for materials other than green waste, councillors have been warned that up to 15% of material being placed in recycling bins is not recoverable — costing the district £33,000 in landfill fees.
Babergh is now among a growing number of English local authorities to consider forceful measures to get householders recycling correctly.

Babergh’s trade recycling is not as well developed as Ipswich’s, however in February 2005 a six week trial was undertaken where 24 local businesses, were offered a separate paper and card collection service, with a recycling rate of 24% achieved for those businesses.
Babergh are now preparing to roll out a service for glass, as well as paper and card, from SMEs.

If you haven’t we understand that it is not too late and letters will be accepted by Babergh right up to the time that it is presented to the committee responsible for planning applications.
We have written to Babergh giving notice of our concerns and indicated that there will be a further letter when we have had time to assess the details in the documentation.
It is up to us to ensure that we keep the pressure on Babergh and influence all the Babergh and Town councillors on this issue if we wish to keep Hadleigh as a Market Town and not a Supermarket Town.
