Babes in Toyland (1934 film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Babes in Toyland is a 1934 musical comedy film starring Laurel and Hardy.
Based on Victor Herbert's popular 1903 operetta Babes in Toyland, the film was produced by Hal Roach, directed by Charley Rogers and Gus Meins, and released to theatres on November 12, 1934 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
Two decades after its original 1934 release, the 83-minute Babes in Toyland was edited down for television into a 77-minute version entitled March of the Wooden Soldiers.

The Further Adventures of Babes in Toyland is a collection of early singles, B-sides and live tracks from Lollapalooza.
More so than the Riot Grrrl bands who were, roughly speaking, their contemporaries, the Babes flew in the face of the male rock establishment, though not so much because of their feminist tirades or idiot savant approach to music-making.
Babes in Toyland were an enormously powerful live band; the unannounced show they played at CBGBs in 1992 is one of my most crystalline concert memories.
