King Henry VIII School - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The senior school has approximately 800 pupils (120 in each of years 7–11 and 100 in each year of the Sixth Form), the majority of whom pay full fees of approximately £6,600 per year, though some means-tested scholarships are awarded.
The school was founded on 23 July 1545 by John Hales as the Free Grammar School under letters patent of King Henry VIII.
The schools have mutual arrangements such as a common entrance examination, shared astroturf pitches, and similar school uniforms, differing only in the colour of tie and the crest on the blazer.

Included in the Ogden Trust's founding mission statement is the aim to encourage other individuals and companies to fund educational scholarships for talented children from low-income families, either with similar schemes or in partnership with the Trust.
From the beginning, Peter Ogden realised that on its own, the £25m he donated could help up to around 600 individual bursary holders at any one time (with matching funding from the schools) but that this was still only a tiny proportion of the potential candidates who might qualify.
In order to encourage and support this exercise, all scholarships will be named after their co-sponsor, who will therefore have a full scholarship in their name even though they are only funding half of it.
