So when they released their debut album, it didn't bear their own name -- instead, it was labelled "Guess Who?" The ruse worked, and within a few years The Guess Who were one of Canada's biggest musical names.
Bachman-Turner Overdrive's manager, Bruce Allen, went on to Loverboy and eventually manage such major pop stars as Bryan Adams, Martina McBride, and Anne Murray.
With the debut of MuchMusic in 1984 and MusiquePlus in 1986, both English and French Canadian musicians had outlets to promote their Music through video.

The album was not released initially in the U.S., although "Hiding from Love" (written by Adams and folksinger Eric Kagna) was issued as a single and reached number 43 in the dance chart.
Meanwhile, although he was still putting the finishing touches on his album, he had committed to begin a concert tour in support of it, and on June 8, 1991, he had gone back on the road in Europe co-headlining with ZZ Top.
On this album, Adams changed gears, abandoning Lange in favor of several songwriting collaborators, the most prominent of whom was Gretchen Peters, and completely eschewing ballads in an attempt to reestablish himself as a rocker.

This album was so close to release that copies were issued to radio stations before Neil pulled back and decided to work on it some more.

His own album, Cuts Like a Knife, was ready by the end of the year, and AandM prefaced it with his version of "Straight from the Heart," released as a single in December.
Vallance was producing the Canadian group Glass Tiger, and Adams came in to sing a duet vocal on their song "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)." It hit number one in Canada in February 1986 and number two in the U.S. eight months later.

A couple of weeks ago I was given the role of caretaking for an album collection, which will no doubt blend into the Big Pile we have here.
The Zappology is arranged by album release, and a detailed analysis of the Lumpy Gravy album is well worth the read.
