Bessel Crater, 16 kilometers in diameter and 2 kilometers deep, is an example of a transitional crater between simple and complex craters.
The terraces and slump blocks on the inside of the crater rim and the relatively flat floor are both typical of large lunar craters.
Copernicus Crater, 93 kilometers in diameter, is one of the youngest and freshest impact craters on the nearside of the Moon.

Above the megablocks is a clast-supported breccia, composed mainly of debris from the tops of the megablocks, crater walls and the surrounding seafloor, scoured by the marine water column as it surged back into the excavation.
The buried southern rim of the crater is marked at the surface by the southern shore of Chesapeake Bay and by the parallel slope of the Diamond Springs scarp.

 JPL.NASA.GOV: News Releases
Operators of NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity have determined that a proposed route eastward out of "Endurance Crater" is not passable, so the rover will backtrack to leave the crater by a southward route, perhaps by retracing its entry path.
Opportunity entered the stadium-size crater on June 8 at a site called "Karatepe" along the crater's southern rim.
Inside the crater, it has found and examined multiple layers of rocks that show evidence of a wet environment in the area's distant past.

 Moons Questions
By comparing the density of craters (for example, number of craters per million square miles) on different parts of the Moon’s surface with the ages of the rocks found in those regions, we can determine that most of the craters formed very early in the history of the Moon.
The material expelled from the crater is hurled upward, and then falls back to the surface to form a raised ejecta blanket surrounding the new crater.
Bedrock under and around the crater is shattered, and the rock closest to the crater may even be melted by the energy released in the explosion.

 Meditation Along Meteor Crater Rim
Sometime back I was along an isolated section of the Meteor Crater rim in Arizona practicing a deep meditation method sometimes refered to as Jishu-zammi, Samadhi of Self Mastery, a variant of sorts on Dogen Zenji's Shikantaza.
The crater is an immense impact-hole pounded out of the Earth thousands of years ago by a huge bolide that crashed through the sky...and something about the place holds a deep fascination for me since early childhood.
Coming back in time now to this visit, as I sat in the remnant remains of one of the ancient Pit Houses dating to the twelve century along the slope of the south rim, without saying a word, a person came up and joined me in meditation for a while.

Molokini Crater is approximately 4 miles off the South Maui Coastline in the Makena area and is a Marine Life Conservation District.
In my opinion the best diving at Molokini is outside the crater at "Reef's End" and the "Back Wall." Depths can reach over 300 feet so one must closely monitor their depth gauge.
Another option is to start inside the crater, scuba along the outside reef, and continue on around the Back Wall getting picked up by the boat wherever you surface.
