		Randall Garrett wrote a wonderful parody pastiche called Backstage Lensman in 1978 which effectively captures the overblown prose and effusive adjectivising of the original.
		When Garrett presented a draft of the parody to Doc Smith himself, Doc laughed a lot and gave his blessings on the project.
