Dr Pat Backwell and Dr Michael Jennions from Canberra's Australian National University published their research in today's issue of the journal Nature.
Losing neighbours is costly because it means having to put the new neighbour in his place, and potentially losing your own burrow if the intruder is large.

 Backwell United
After having spent the pre-war years playing at various venues in the local area, Backwell United moved to the Recreation Ground (aka The Playing Fields) when they reformed after WW2.
The club entered senior football as members of the Somerset League in 1970, and it was at this time that any serious development of the ground began to take place, with the provision of new changing rooms on the near touchline (south side).
The Recreation Ground is typical of many County League venues, with a pronounced slope to the pitch a further noteworthy point.

The competition is open to all KUGB under 16s in the Bristol area and is held in the YMCA in Totterdown which was one of Sensei Winfield's clubs.
