Bactria and its capital Bactra may have been forgotten in the West, but not in Iran, as this message from Nushin Namazi tells: "In addition to this recent discovery of gold, Bactra (Paktra - Iranian name) is a sacred Iranian city.
It was from Bactra that came Zoroaster (Zardosht).
Bactra was also the spiritual home of the great temple of the ancient Iranian goddess, Anahit (in Pahlavi or Middle-Persian) and Anahita (Ânâhitâ) in the Avesta hymns.

Bactria (Bactriana) was the ancient name of the country between the range of the Hindu Kush (Paropamisus) and the Amu Darya (Oxus), with the capital Bactra (now Balkh[?]).
It is a mountainous country with a moderate climate.

Although when well-marked this species is fairly distinctive, poorly-marked specimens are difficult to separate from other Bactra species.
The adult moths fly in June and July and occupy damp marshy habitats.
The larvae feed in the stems of rushes such as commmon club-rush (Schoenoplectus lacustris) and compact rush (Juncus conglomeratus), hollowing out the stem.
