The film, which took place in Miami (one of the absolute action movie capitals for the 90s), was well-made enough to still be relevant in the genre of action movies despite the fact that it was made over ten years ago.
Films today are becoming notorious for cutting corners by using computer generated everything, so it’s ironically refreshing to see a movie that does car chases with real cars and streets, and real explosions that actually blow things up.
Films like “48 Hours”, and the “Lethal Weapon”; series did a great deal to open the doors for a film like Bad Boys; and that fact is not at all lost on the makers of Bad Boys.

With BAD BOYS so heavily dependent on guns, it is noteworthy that it seems important to Bay that the utmost care was taken to insure everyone's safety.
BAD BOYS and BLUE STREAK are full-frame, but the MIB trailer is anamorphic widescreen, a first for Columbia on a trailer.
BAD BOYS already had a good DVD but it now has a great one, and I hope that people will support this type of respect for the DVD consumer by purchasing these great reissues.

Although many disparage their films, I don't apologize because I feel some fondness for the action flicks produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and (prior to his death in 1996) Don Simpson.
Leoni has little to do in the film, but it doesn't appear that way because she makes the most of her time onscreen and enlivens the proceedings with her presence.
