Bad Company - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bad Company was a British rock band founded in 1973, consisting of band members from Free (Paul Rodgers, Simon Kirke), Mott The Hoople (Mick Ralphs) and King Crimson (Boz Burrell).
Bad Company's first inspiration for its music and its name came from the 1973 radio play hit, also of the same name, from the 1972 western, Bad Company that starred Barry Brown and Jeff Bridges.
Their first single, "Can't Get Enough", which Ralphs had originally written for Mott the Hoople before being told that it was unsuitable for the group, was a Top 20 hit in the UK and Top 10 in the US in 1974.

 Free and Bad Company
Free originated during the British blues boom of 1968, populating the same London blues club scene that gave rise to acts like Jethro Tull, Fleetwood Mac, and Procol Harum, and was dominated by Alex Korner and John Mayall, both of whom had employed various members of the band before its assembly.
Perhaps not surprisingly, Bad Company was a massive commercial success on both sides of the Atlantic from the start.
At the start, Bad Company seemed like the Mick Ralphs show: he wrote their huge hit single "Can't Get Enough," their modestly successful follow-up "Movin' On," and their re-recording of Mott the Hoople's "Ready For Love," and is co-credited on two of Rodgers' five numbers.

Formed in 1973, the British hard rock outfit Bad Company was a supergroup comprised of ex-King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell, former Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs, and singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke, both previous members of Free.
After 1977's Burnin' Sky, Bad Company recorded 1979's Desolation Angels, which embellished the group's sound with synthesizers and strings; a three-year hiatus followed before the release of Rough Diamonds, the group's final LP in its original incarnation.
Two more LPs -- 1995's The Company of Strangers and the next year's Stories Told and Untold -- followed, and in 1998 the original lineup of Rodgers, Ralphs, Kirke, and Burrell reunited to record a handful of new tracks that surfaced alongside past material early the following year on The Original Bad Company Anthology.

Bad Company closes on a patriotic note in a brief scene that pays heartfelt tribute to the terrorist-thwarting sacrifices of the CIA.

The former ad-libs some funny zingers ("What kind of risk — bad-credit risk or bullet-in-the-ass risk?"), while the latter surprises with some dryly delivered snaps of his own; he calls Rock "bitch" with the same serious tone you or I might call someone "professor." Despite being one of the most popular bands in the world, itwas clear that Bad Company were always going to be comparedunfavourably with Free, and they failed to develop musicallyafter their first LP.
