Badge engineering - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Badge engineering is a term that describes the rebadging of one model of car as another.
Language problems can also mean that a car has to be given a different name in a certain country (for example, the Mitsubishi Pajero is called the Montero in Spanish-speaking countries), although this may not constitute badge engineering, as the car is still sold under the same brand name.
While originally, differences were confined to the badges used on the model, more typically it involves slight styling differences, usually with different headlights and rear lights.

This allowed more room for a larger engine cradle with a liquid-filled engine mount that isolates engine noise and vibration from the cabin and a powertrain roll restrictor that eliminates the jerking motion that occurs during shifting events as the power train jounces around.
