	Mayfly Genus Baetis (Blue-Winged Olives) Hatch
		(Baetis adonis, Baetis alius, Baetis bicaudatus, Baetis bundyae, Baetis caurinus, Baetis diablus, Baetis foemina, Baetis hudsonicus, Baetis magnus, Baetis moqui, Baetis notos, Baetis palisadi, Baetis parallelus, Baetis persecutor, Baetis piscatoris, Baetis pluto, Baetis posticatus, Baetis rusticans)
		Some Baetis species are often the first major hatches in the Spring and the last in the Fall, and on especially stable spring creeks they may emerge throughout the Winter.
		Baetis nymphs are found in almost every trout stream, but they produce more broods and thicker hatches in cold, unpolluted, alkaline (Alkaline: Having a pH higher than 7 (opposite of acidic).

		The baetis, or 'Blue Wing Olive,' is a fairly common insect across many of Utah's waters.
		While the majority of Blue Wing Olives are in fact from the genera baetis, it's not always the case scientifically speaking.
		As the baetis nymph matures, the body color tends to darken.

		I think that a couple things are causing the small Baetis patterns to become effective.
		I think that trout around here are focusing in on the small PMD nymphs (Infrequens as opposed to the bigger Inermis), and imature Baetis, which are readily available all year, because there are so many of them.
		Couple that with higher water and increased foot traffic and you have a lot of dislodged insects available to trout during a time when they usually would not be.
