		BAGERHAT, Feb 27:–The cultivation of Boro in Bagerhat district is being hampered due to the acute scarcity of chemical fertilizers, high prices of diesel, abnormal load shedding of electricity and lack of irrigation facilities.
		As a aresult the farmers of the district are deprived of the allotted quantity of the fertilizer.
		The dealers of the fertilizer of the district told this correspondent that the mill rate of a bag of fertilizer was Tk 240/-.

		The phenomenon of water-logging was first experienced in the fresh-water areas in the north, such as in Mollahat, Chitalmari and parts of Fakirhat in Bagerhat district, Terokhada and parts of Dumuria in Khulna district and Keshabpur, Monirampur and Abhoynagar in Jessore district.

		Charbaniayri is a small village under Nazirpur police station (Upazila) in the district of Pirojpur district in southern Bengal.
		Perojpur district has also sizeable number of Hindu population wherefrom AL leader Sudhansu Shekhar Haldar contested in the last election against one of the top Jamat i leader Delwar Hossain Saidi (see Razakar page) sitting MP (he has been found guilty of malpractice in the last election by the High court in a recent verdict).
		The local leaders belonging to Government parties opined that the miscreants from other side of the district did this in order to damage the image of the government of Khaleda Begum, an intentional and skillful design on the part of the opposition.
