Sometime in the middle of the 18th century, the municipality is part of the township of Allabok which covers the moderate slopes of the mountain ranges overlooking the China Sea.
As of 1903, the community was under the jurisdiction of the Mountain Province, sub-province of Benguet with capital at La Trinidad.

According to a report from the Bagulin Police Station, the armed men were spotted recently in the remote Barangay of Tagudtud, where they allegedly warned residents not to commit illegal acts if they don’t want to suffer the same fate of the victims.
