Ambedkar Samaj Party - Wikipedia, den fria encyklopedin
Ambedkar Samaj Party är ett politiskt parti i Indien som kämpar för daliternas rättigheter.
For me the Bahujan Samaj Party was nothing but a socio-political Movement dedicated to its people for their politically empowerment to do away with their abominable thralldom, inhuman injustice and perpetual wretchedness.
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was the outcome of the principle of “Pay Back to society” and toiling efforts of Bahujan Samaj predominated by Chamars of north, Mahars of Vidarbha (Maharashtra), Adi-Dharmis of Punjab and Namshudra of Bengal.

The Hindu : BSP open to poll tie-up in State
Notwithstanding the Bahujan Samaj Party president, Mayawati's assertions against electoral alliances, the party's State unit has said that it is still open to a tie-up with either the Congress or the Janata Dal (S) for the elections in the State.
The party's State unit secretary, Mahesh Kumar, told The Hindu that the party still had an open mind on an electoral understanding with either the Congress or the Janata Dal (S) if the leaders of the two parties shunned their "political arrogance'' and came forward to strike a "fair deal'' with the party.
Though the party categorised Congress, the Janata Dal (S) and the Bharatiya Janata Party as "manuvadi'' parties, an electoral understanding between the Bahujan Samaj Party and one of the two mainstream "secular'' parties — Congress and the Janata Dal (S) — could avert the division of "secular'' votes, he said.

The Bahujan Samaj Party president, Mayawati, said today that the primary objective of her party's electoral strategy is to ensure the defeat of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the coming Assembly elections.
Though the BSP president ruled out the possibility of a formal alliance with any other party, the principal beneficiary of the decision to contest only a limited number of seats would be the Congress.
She said the BSP would contest only 160 of the 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 125 of the 200 seats in Rajasthan, 55 of the 90 seats in Chhattisgarh and 40 of the 70 seats in Delhi.

But in view of rival parties' campaign against the BSP on the issue, she said, the party had for the first time come out with a written document that would remain unchanged in future elections to come.
In fact, the BSP document is unlike the routine manifestos issued by political parties on the eve of elections and is more akin to a theoretical exposition of what the bahujan samaj movement stands for.

Theses from Uppsala University : 3460 - Mobilising the Lower Castes
This thesis investigates the rise of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), a party that represents the untouchable castes (Scheduled Castes or Dalits) in India.
The empirical analysis shows that the rise of the BSP is primarily explained by an increased tendency of Scheduled Castes to vote in accordance with Dalit group interests.
This change, in turn, is the result of several important changes from the 1970s onwards: the spread of education in combination with persisting socio-economic inequalities, the emergence of opposition parties that represent other caste categories, and the inclination of the BSP to present itself as a party that exclusively represents Dalits.
