An earlier report said that the law enforcing agencies Sunday continued their nationwide crackdown against the leaders and workers of defunct militant outfits across the country netting dozens of militants of the banned groups.
At least 57 leaders and active members of the banned outfits were arrested from Multan, Bahwalpur, Khanewal, Muzaffargarh and Dera Ghazi Khan, police sources said.
The Police also sealed many offices of these outlawed outfits in these cities and confiscated all the published material found in the offices.

Ahmedpur Sharqia, located at a distance of 75 kilometers from Bahwalpur, is an important business and political center of former princely State of Bahawalpur.
With a population of over one lakh people, Ahmedpur Sharqia is a semi rural town but is fast growing into a modern city as a result of a number of development programmes sponsored by the local authorities.

MULTAN, Pakistan (AFP) - A Pakistani man committed suicide yesterday to protest the non-registration by police of a complaint over the gang rape of his wife, officials said.
Bashir Ahmed poured petrol over himself then set himself on fire outside the office of a senior police officer in Bahwalpur, some 90 kilometres (55 miles) south of Multan, a police official told AFP requesting anonymity.
Ahmed was taken to hospital but later died there from his severe burns, he said.
