	Kira Nerys - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		A Bajoran officer in the Bajoran Militia, she served as Captain Benjamin Sisko's first officer and Bajoran liaison officer on space station Deep Space Nine.
		After Cardassia withdrew from Bajor, at age 26, Kira became an influential figure in its reconstruction and the politics of the region, due to her assignment (and holding the rank of major) to Deep Space Nine, and her closeness to Captain Benjamin Sisko, whom the Bajorans believed to be an emissary from the Bajoran Prophets.
		Though she is a member of the Bajoran Militia, Kira has been an invaluable help to Starfleet, especially during the Dominion War.

		Shortly after being "formed", Odo was sent away from the Great Link as one of 100 infant explorers; until the beginning of the third season of the show, he did not know what he was or where he had come from.
		He apparently spent some time in the mines, where he was often asked to settle disputes among the Bajorans, as he was considered a neutral observer.
		Then, in "The Ascent", Odo was stranded with Quark on a hostile planet, and the two of them had to climb a mountain, carrying a subspace transmitter, and fighting all the way.

		The collar insignia for this was a fl square bordered with white, with three silver pips in a diagonal line, with two stripes underneath.
		The Bajoran Militia, which also uses army rank names, has been referred to by the Star Trek Encyclopedia as having a captain grade, with an insignia seen in episodes on officers subordinate to Major Kira Nerys, although they were never referred to by any specific rank in canon productions or materials.
		In 2364, the Q-entity took the form of a USMC captain when confronting Captain Picard.

		Rank insignia are as follows for officers of the Bajoran Militia:
		Others were used, but the rank system doesn't seem to be very coherent, the only others that were seen were a few lieutenants and a couple of generals.
		As in the case of non-commissioned Bajoran personnel, please note that there seemed to be no proper rank insignia, although Odo was shown to rank his deputies through a uniform difference (the higher collar).

		Presumably the rest of the fleet was out watching the borders and the neutral zone, actually I do recall someone mentioning in th movie that the fleet was on standby.
		In general they're only as long or as short as they need to be, which is why I only depict the important ends.
		Maybe if I did a full screen sheet of Bajoran emblems I'll show the banners at their full extent, but that won't be for a while.

		Robert or John Bibb: Because the Bajoran Wormhole Prophets have no concept of linear time, I feel that there is NO problem with the Orb of Time.
		Consider the case of some of the Generals we've seen from Bajor, like the one in "The Siege." One becomes a General through experience, and that means learning things like tactics.
		I would have a hard time converting an Admiral or General in the Bajoran militia into a Starfleet Admiral.
