Both temples are set back amongst the trees and sandwiched between Phnom Bakheng and the moat surrounding the Royal City.
Baksei Chamkrong is a tall four-tiered brick temple lacking decoration, while Prasat Bei comprises three ruined brick shrines on a raised platform.

According to Inscriptions of Baksei Chamrong, the ruling dynasty of Funan belonged to MOON, LUNAR or [Chandravama] lineage of KSHATRYAS and that of Kambuja are also stated to belong to Sun, SOLAR or Suryavamsa line of KSHATRYAS respectively.
This is written in the Baksei Chamkrong inscription, dated 947 A.D.47.
This makes a perfect sense to me. And combined with further known fact that this king Kaundanya's direct descendents[ kings of Funan] claimed for themselves Moon lineage as per Baksei Inscriptions....hence this so called Kaundanya, the founder of Funan Hindu kingdom in Indo-China, to all probability, was from some 'Kshatrya' rather than a 'Brahmana' family.
