		Balance contains some of the finest riffs Edie has ever come up with, although songs like 'Ain't talkin' 'bout love', 'Panama', 'Jump' and the famous and path-breaking 'Eruption' have memorable leads and patches, that are still considered second to none.

		Very much an album that I would call a search for some sort of meaning to life, this album, which I freely confess to being one of my very favourites by the Moody Blues, marked a return to rather more straightforward instrumental arrangements than the multi-tracking multi instrumental albums that preceded it.
		Side 2 (of the vinyl album) opens with "It's Up To You", another Justin Hayward song played predominantly on acoustic 12 string guitar, which suggests that life is often what we ourselves make of it.
		The album closes with the other item of the title of this particular album, "The Balance", by Graeme Edge, another of the oratorical style songs of which the Moodies were particularly fond, especially during the early years.

	Question of Balance by Moody Blues CD
		The beautifully remastered version of the Moody Blues's 1970 back-to-basics album (translation: they cut way back on the overdubs) strips away the original aural murk at last, and includes informative liner-note interviews with the band about the recording process.
		All the bonus and alternate mix tracks are of fine quality and the difference may be as subtle as additional back-up vocals or extra instruments.
		This is one of my favorite albums by this supergroup, but the treatment it got here is less than what the MB's deserved.
