Britains Swoppet Knights - Ancient Siege Engines
Balistas were built in many sizes and the tightly twisted cordage of horse hair or sinew gave a terrific velocity.
The Balista's attendants were a blue-clad soldier who was either firing or adjusting the windlass, and a figure in an orange tunic carrying one of the arrows which again were provided in considerate quantity - four if memory serves.
In this format, the balista lasted a couple of years, the catapult slightly longer, its lifespan eventually overlapping with the Siege Tower and the Lion and Sword Castles of the early 1990s.

BALISTA, one of the thirty tyrants of Trebel- lius Pollio.
This assertion is however based on no good foundation, resting as it does on the authority of certain medals now universally recog nised as spurious, and on the hesitating testimony of Trebellius Pollio, who acknowledges that, even at the time when he wrote, the statements regard ing this matter were doubtful and contradictory.
Neither the time nor manner of Balista's death can be ascertained with certainty, but it is believed to have happened about 264, and to have been contrived by Odenathus.

Gallienus usurpers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Eastern army, needing a leader, offered the rule to Macrianus Major, a noble and wealthy man, but he refused because of his age and health.
With the help of Balista, the Valerian prefect who had defeated the Persians after the emperor's death, and with Valerian wealth he held from his office of procurator arcae et praepositus annonae in expeditione Persica, Macrianus Major made his two sons Macrianus Minor and Quietus emperors.
While Quietus and Balista stayed in the East and in Egypt to secure their rule, Macrianus Major and Minor moved to Thrace, to counter Gallienus, ruler of Italy and Illyricum.

 Neverwinter Nights: Working Siege Equipment
I'm using the CEP2 siege equipment in my module (Eg, balistae, catapults) and I'm looking for a system to make them fire their projectiles.
Nothing fancy, just something that would fire a projectile from the siege equipment, hit the ground at a specified distance away (That I can change as needed in different areas) and do damage in the small ground area that it hits.
I have one other little issue; that is that the PC can fire the balista indefinitely without any delay between rounds.
