 Ball Handling
A legal hit is contact with the ball by a player's body which does not allow the ball to visibly come to rest, or have prolonged contact with a player.
It can be either 2 attempts in succession or the ball rebounding from one part of the body to one or more other parts on a single attempt to play the ball (excepts in different sets of rules).
This leads to some ridiculous lift calls, such as a ball hitting a player on the shoulder (and rebounding cleanly) or, better yet, a spike or serve that hits a player in the head (those pesky ears having latched on to the ball, I guess).
