 Bloodbath - Uncyclopedia
If the ball hits the naval blocker without first hitting the bat, but would have hit the wicket if the naval blocker was not there, and the ball does not pitch on the leg side of the wicket the naval blocker will be out.
A no ball adds one run to the batting team's score, in addition to any other kills which are scored off it, and the naval blocker can't be dismissed off a no ball except by being run out, or by handling the ball, hitting the ball twice, or obstructing the field.
However, if, while the ball is in play he wilfully fields it otherwise, the ball becomes dead and 5 penalty runs are awarded to the batting side unless the ball previously struck a naval blocker not attempting to hit or avoid the ball.

 How To Play - Peeling
Normally you would not want to run rover with your forward ball unless your partner ball had also made most of the hoops as a defence against your opponent pegging your rover ball out and leaving you with only one ball on the lawn.
If the stop shot is played close to the hoop, say 1 foot away then you may not be able to hit the stroke hard, to get the peelee well through, and yet leave the striker's ball in hoop running position.
If you are playing an angled stop shot from a distance closer than this then you would be advised to play a gentle stop shot to reduce the distance that the ball skids before its starts rolling.

an offensive play predicated upon misdirection in which the quarterback pretends to hand the ball to another player, and then carries the ball in the opposite direction of the supposed ballcarrier with the intent of either passing or running (sometimes the quarterback has the option of doing either).
an offensive play in which a ballcarrier going toward one side of the field hands or tosses the ball to a teammate who is running in the opposite direction (if the second ballcarrier is an end, it is an "end around").

Balls may bounce on the cushion tops and rails of the table in play without being jumped balls if they return to the bed of the table under their own power and without touching anything not a part of the table.
Extra or out-of-play balls may not be used by players to check clearance or for any other reason (except to lag for break); the triangle may be employed to ascertain whether a ball is in the rack when a match is unofficiated and the table has not been pencil marked around the triangle area.
If the balls are moved (or a player bumped such that play is directly affected) by a non-player during the match, the balls shall be replaced as near as possible to their original positions immediately prior to the incident, and play shall resume with no penalty on the player affected.

Snap (American football) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Beginning regionally again and universally by 1923, the 3-man scrimmage was reduced to the centre alone, the number of players on the field being reduced commensurately from 14 to 12, and a snap rule and neutral zone similar to that of American football was adopted.
Canadian football used the rugby scrimmage unaltered until near the end of the 19th Century, when, regionally at first, under the influence of the American scrimmage, the number of players in the scrimmage was limited to three -- a "centre scrimmager" bound on either side by props called "side scrimmagers".
The centre scrimmager was later renamed the "snap", and in intercollegiate play one side was given the right to put foot to ball first.

American College Football Rules Questions & Answers
Usually the decisions about whether to run with or pass the ball and, for a running play, who will carry the ball, are made before the play starts.
These can be used in situations where a pass play is very likely such as third down and fifteen yards to go or in the last two minutes of a half.
Any number of backward passes may be made during a play, in addition to the forward pass.

Keep Your Kids Out of Ball Pits? - BreakTheChain.org
(8/27/2005) What has this world come to that children can't play in a ball pit without atrociously written, sensational and unverified rumors ruining all the fun?
Ball pits may not be perfect, but this tale of a child who died after playing in one is unsubstantiated.
However, labeling this one a legend isn't the same as saying that fast food ball pits are the cleanest and safest places in the world - afterall, they are designed for and used by children, who aren't exactly the cleanest or most conscientious folks on the planet.

Rutherford Little League Base Umpiring, 1999
The traditional appeal is for the pitcher to get the ball on the mound, wait for a batter, make sure the ball is in play, and then step off the mound and throw the ball to the base he suspects the runner missed.
NOTE: If the defense appeals at home base, and the pitcher properly steps off before throwing to the catcher, but the batter swings at the thrown ball, the batter is guilty of interference and he shall be called out.
The appeal is still valid if the defense makes no other play, but if the pitcher is distracted and throws to second base, that's a new play and the appeal is off.

 Federation Appeal Rule
The defense must appeal an infraction before the next pitch, legal or illegal; at the end of an inning, they must appeal before the pitcher and all infielders have left fair territory; at the end of the game, they must appeal before the umpires have left the field of play.
Once play has ceased, the defensive player, with the ball in his possession, may touch the base missed or left early, or tag the runner committing the violation, announcing to the umpire that number "18" left early or whatever the appeal concerns.
A dead ball appeal may be made by a coach, or any defensive player (with or without the ball) by verbally stating that the runner missed the base or left too soon.

The goalkeeper is the only player allowed to handle the ball with his hands or arms, but is restricted to doing so within the penalty area (also known as the "box" or "18 yard box") in front of his own goal.
In typical game play, players attempt to move towards a goal through individual control of the ball, such as by dribbling (running with the ball close to their feet); by passing the ball from team-mate to team-mate; and by taking shots at the goal.
Although players mainly use their feet to move the ball around, they may use any part of their bodies other than their hands or arms.
