Beckham County, Kentucky was formed from Carter Co. and from Lewis and Elliott Counties.
Kentucky was admitted as a state (to be formally admitted as the 15th state on 1 Jun 1792) followed on 18 Feb 1792 by Vermont which was as the 14th state.
For example, Hardin County is the 15th to be formed and was formed in 1793 while Green County is the 16th and it was formed in 1792.

Defendant's affidavit states that the situs of the injury is 15 miles from the Ballard County, Kentucky, courthouse, 2 miles from the Pulaski County, Illinois, courthouse, and 160 miles from the St. Clair County, Illinois, courthouse.
Defendant finally argues that the courts of St. Clair County are congested, as shown by the 32.6-month average lapse of time between the date of filing and the date of verdict for the 2,887 law cases filed in the county in 1997.

LaRue County was formed on 4 March 1843, from a portion of Hardin County and was named in honor of John P. LaRue, an early settler.
