 Il Ballo Ortobene - Il Ballo: Origini ed evoluzione - Gruppo Folk Ortobene Nuoro, Sardegna, Italia
Il nome e' probabilmente onomatopeico dato dal fatto che leparole con cui si accompagnava il ballo erano "dilliri, dilliri, dilliriana" (da "dillisu" che significa zimbello, beffa Un momento di prove "informali", scherno e "dilliriu" che significa delirio).
Su ballu tundu, come dice la parola stessa, veniva eseguito in circolo.
Su "Ballu Tundu" e' un ballo gioioso che permette una certa liberta' di movimento con i piedi, sempre nel rispetto dei canoni fondamentali, anche perche' questo ballo si esegue per coppie in evidenza e i ballerini si esprimono a livello personale secondo il proprio estro e la propria personalita'.

The most widely spread dance on the island is the dance of su ballu tundu (the round dance) or duru-duru, certainly the most simple dance, where all form a circle, then remove themselves from the circle, but then return to the circle after having danced all the other routines.
It is known as the Sardinian dance (not by chance is it also called the ballu sardu), partly because in the entire Mediterranean, it only seems to be practiced in Sardinia, and partly because it seems to capture something of all other dances on the island.
