 Ballylickey Manor House
It was not until he retired in 1945, to Ballylickey near Bantry, in Co. Cork, that he was able to give up a great deal of his time to entomology.
Here he made a study of the Irish butterflies, being especially interested in the local sub-species.
Richard Massie Graves C.B.E. (1880 - 1960) was also educated at Haileybury and Oxford and entered the Levant Consular Service in 1903 and served in Egypt, Palestine, Tangiers and elsewhere.
