Congratulations to the pupils from Colehill NS who were announced recently as winners in the Ballymahon and District Credit Union Limited Poster competition.
Children from all schools around the Ballymahon region took part in this competition and a very high standard was reported by the adjudicators.
Local girls Edel McDonnell and Claire Delaney were both members of the winning panel and this is indeed a great achievement for both girls to have a National title under their belts as it is also for all their teammates.

The family moved to the parsonage at Lissoy, between Athlone and Ballymahon, and continued to live there until his father's death in 1747.
He was buried in Temple Church; his death in 1774 may have been partly caused by his own misdiagnosis of his kidney infection.
There is a monument to him in the centre of Ballymahon, also in Westminster Abbey with an epitaph written by Samuel Johnson.

Patrick Noonan, of Newcastle, Ballymahon, Co. Longford, was disallowed by the Insurance Officer because the claimant failed to satisfy the conditions laid down in Section 7 of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1920, which requires that the claimant must be unemployed and unable to obtain suitable employment.
The claimant appealed to the Court of Referees, which recommended that benefit be allowed.
