Baluch rugs are intriguing; their designs provide a window onto the past, an exceptionally graphic reflection of old traditions.
Baluch enthusiasts and ‘experts’ typically debate which tribe or subtribe made which type, where and when, with artistic composition and aesthetic impact assuming a secondary role.
I have not seen another Baluch weaving remotely similar to this one, a fact which suggests to me that it may be of an earlier period.

The badge chosen for the 10th Baluch Regiment in 1923 was a Roman 'Ten' within a crescent moon, a crown above and title scroll below.
