Bambi Meets Godzilla - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bambi Meets Godzilla is the title of a US 1969 cartoon short written, directed, and produced by Marv Newland.
The stamping foot of Godzilla is seen by some as a precursor and influence to the famous stamping foot used during the opening credits of Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Then Bambi looks up, startled: Godzilla's foot comes down, crushing Bambi as the light music switches to a loud, elongated piano chord like the final note of "A Day in the Life" by The Beatles.

Bambi, A Life in the Woods - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bambi, ein Leben im Walde (Bambi, A Life in the Woods) is a book by Felix Salten, first printed in 1923.
Bambi is the name of the main character, a male roe deer beginning life as a fawn, then an adolescent spike, and finally a buck.
Two movies based on this book, Detstvo Bambi (Bambi's Childhood) and its sequel Yunost Bambi (Bambi's Youth), released in the USSR in 1985 and 1986 respectively.

The cycle reaches its nadir with the juvenile Son of Godzilla (1967), the adolescent fantasy Godzilla's Revenge (1969), and the tired Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972) and Godzilla vs. Megalon (1973).
Godzilla's Japanese name, "Gojira," is the combination of the words for gorilla ("gorira") and whale ("kujira"), purportedly the nickname of a portly Toho publicist.
Godzilla vs. Mothra was inexplicably released in the US as Godzilla vs. the Thing and though the title has been changed back, she's still continually referred to as "The Thing" in the dubbing.

Godzilla's occasional rampages are, from this eons-long perspective, just a side-effect of a side-effect, and the thousands of dead are completely irrelevant to the forces that destroy planets.

For the purposes of GURPS Godzilla, is is assumed that the oxygen destroyer skeletonized the original (1954) Godzilla, but that enough cells were left that he regenerated over the next 30 years, and re-emerged in 1984.

Bambi meets Godzilla: Disney goes for the goo in a by-turns gory and sappy new epic of computer-generated images.
Disney's animators use the "Bambi" prototype -- an animal orphan fighting natural catastrophe and hunters -- and apply it to the tale of a dinosaur, an iguanadon, who rises from foundling to messiah.
Once Aladar meets up with a multibreed herd of herbivores trying to outstrip lurking 'raptors and Carnotaurs and get to the happy nesting ground -- a land of water and grass, if not milk and honey -- his fate becomes clear.

His movie special effects may have been lame-o, but they're a big reason why lots of people love Godzilla movies, collect Godzilla toys and enjoy spoof films with titles such as "Bambi Meets Godzilla." Godzilla fans filled theaters earlier this year when the original Japanese version of the 1954 film was released.
In "Gojira," made nine years after the war, Godzilla is a dinosaur awakened in his undersea home by a hydrogen bomb test, which makes him radioactive.
His body was a 200-pound lizard suit, his terrifying roar was the sound of a leather glove being dragged across a stringed instrument, and his thunderous footsteps were made by beating a kettle drum with a knotted rope.

That being said, I try to be aware enough to understand that the message of BAMBI MEETS GODZILLA is that weakness cannot be tolerated in nature, or in ourselves, and that cynicism is in fact part of nature, and in fact one is a wimp to believe otherwise.
The values of individual freedom, however, are represented by the hero Godzilla (the pragmatic materialist) who stamps out the weak Bambi (the naive idealist) who must die in order for the laws of nature to prevail, and thus the morality of nature to prevail in a free society.
The culture of BAMBI MEETS GODZILLA is a complex of mindsets, a self-sustaining cultural belief system that reinforces itself and is instinctively against anything that stands in its way, and thus brings together odd bedfellows.
