The league was due to expand to a sixteen club format from 2005.
Monton and Weaste were awarded the extra place ahead of Bamford Fieldhouse, Saddleworth, Elton, Walshaw, Didsbury and Bury.
However, Stand left the league before the 2005 season and their replacement, Clifton did not join until 2006.

There is a small car park, for about 20 cars and the radio club opens on Monday evenings at about 8pm and finishes at about 10pm.

In the M.E.N. Colts competition, 2004 was the first time that group matches were played prior to the final.
After beating the Saddleworth League at Bamford Fieldhouse, the Colts lost their remaining matches against the Northern League at Prestwich and the Ribblesdale League at Roe Green.
They had their usual success in the North West Colts Trophy before having to concede to the Cheshire County League when a date could not be agreed to play their match.

After entering the playoff season with a 2-0 win against St. Ann's on Wednesday, November 2, Poly Prep's varsity volleyball team beat Nightingale-Bamford 2-0 in a semifinals contest, held the following Friday.
The win landed our girls the Ivy League Championship, and took them once again to the NYSAISAA finals, where they met Brearley at Brearley Fieldhouse.
After a valiant effort, the team finished the championship game in second place.
