Bamyan Province (Persian: بامیان) is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan.
Bamyan city is the largest city in the Hazarajat region of Afghanistan, and is the cultural capital of the Hazara ethnic group that predominates in the area.
Bamyan is currently the base of operations for the New Zealand peace keeping force, a Provincial Reconstruction Team codenamed Task Group Crib, which is part of the network of Provincial Reconstruction Teams throughout Afghanistan.

News: Afghanistan, Bamyan province highlights Afghanistan's hospital shortage
The Central Hospital in the central Afghan province of Bamyan is the only functioning hospital in the region and serves patients from five provinces - Maidan, Baghlan, Parwan, Uruzgan, and Bamyan province itself, Radio Free Afghanistan reported on 10 December.
Mohammad Fahim, the hospital's acting director and internal-medicine specialist, told the RFE/RL service that the hospital has just eight doctors, 12 nurses, and 44 beds and treats 150 patients daily.
