 A Tribute To The Bancrofts
Eleanor was born to John and Elizabeth Bailey in Wayne, PA. She was saved at the age of 19 at a Christian conference near Philadelphia, being led to the Lord by a high school friend who had been saved just a few months earlier.
The Bancrofts moved to Manila in 1951 to assume responsibilities at First Baptist Church and in the ABWE seminary.
The Bancrofts' contribution to ABWE and to missions in general was significant.

Rules about how the school cap was worn were quite strict: the cap had to be on straight and the peak pulled down.

Ogden Business - Forest School Website
Teams from Hockerill Anglo-European College, Alexandra Park School, Bancrofts School, Ilford County High School and Forest were presented with the challenge of coming up with a scheme which would use the existing facilities of a fictional school - not only to generate additional revenue but also to benefit the local community.
As one of the judges, Paul Vening, remarked, the standard of the presentations was extremely high, especially considering that the teams were presented with the problem "blind" with no chance to prepare beforehand and that the problem was made harder this year by the requirement to consider the social dimension as well as profit.
With such a high standard of presentations it was fortunate that there was a distinguished panel of judges to take on the difficult and potentially controversial task of ranking the teams.

I have asked a wide range of pupils from different schools, their ideas on the subject, here are their answers to the question:

THE national GCSE pass rate for all schools was unchanged this year, with 97.6 per cent of entries achieving a pass.
But there was another increase in the pass rate at the top four grades, up 1.1 points to 59.2 per cent and an increase of 0.7 points in the percentage of A* and A-grade passes, up to 17.4 per cent.
Because so many schools now achieve maximum scores by this measure, we have ranked them by the fifth column, which shows the percentage of entries achieving A* and Agrades.
