BANGANAPALLE, a state of southern India, surrounded by the Madras district of Kurnool.
The excessive expenditure of the nawab, Syed Fateh Ali Khan, and the general inefficiency of the administration caused much anxiety to the government, and in February 1905 he was temporarily removed from the administration of the state.
The town of Banganapalle is not far from the branch of the Southern Mahratta railway frpm Guntakal to Bezwada.

Between 1790 and 1948, Banganapalle was the capital of a princely state of the same name.
In 1601, Sultan Ismail Adil Shah of Bijapur conquered the fortress of Banganapalle from Raja Nanda Chakravathy.
Banganapalle was ruled by the descendants of Faiz Ali Khan initially as a fief of the Mughal empire, and after the Nizam of Hyderabad declared his independence from the Mughals in 1724, as a fief of Hyderabad.
