The Washington Diplomat Banny De Brum became ambassador of the Marshall Islands to the United States on April 30, 1996. Before assuming his current position, Ambassador De Brum spent a year as chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of the Marshall Islands in Washington, D.C., and a year as chairman of the Washington Pacific Committee.
