Frank Norris was the recognized leader of the WBF and the Bible Baptist Institute of Fort Worth, Texas.
To further church planting BBFI is cooperating in the International Baptist Network.

Bible Baptist is a descriptive title used most commonly either by churches of the Baptist Bible Fellowship International or unaffiliated Independent Baptists.
The use of the term Bible Baptist seems to be primarily an outgrowth of fundamentalism, and is intended to designate Baptists that believe the Bible and in the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible, as opposed to Liberal Christianity, which they see as a rejection of the Bible.
Most Bible Baptist churches are either members of the BBFI or were once affiliated with it.

The Global Independent Baptist Fellowship is a recently formed independent Baptist fellowship arising from doctrinal disputes within the Baptist Bible Fellowship International.
For a while it was known informally as the Heartland Baptist Fellowship Pastors and churches withdrawing from BBFI objected to perceived modernism relating to the Bible, music, worship styles, eccelesiology and other issues.
In addition to the missionary and evangelistic work of the churches, GIBF publishes a quarterly, Baptist Times and supports the Heartland Baptist Bible College.

There are other Independent Baptist missions agencies which are not counted in this tally, and there are a large number of strictly independent missionaries who work directly out of their home churches and who are not associated with any other agency.
The Baptist Bible Tribune article made an important observation as to why there are far more missionaries per church sent out by Independent Baptist churches and why there is far more missions giving by Independent Baptist churches compared with Southern Baptist churches.
