  Baptists
For Baptists, the church is essentially the result of conversion and of Grace, a gathered community of committed believers; it is not the mother of Christian experience or the source (rather than the effect) of grace, as in the Catholic tradition.
Many Baptist seminaries and churches are known for their liberal theology, style of worship, and social attitudes; and Baptists were consistently important leaders in establishing the ecumenical movement of the early 20th century.
The convictions of Baptists are based primarily on the spiritual nature of the church, and the practice of believers' baptism arises only as a corollary of this and in the light of the NT teaching.

Lotz said the bishops in the Serbian Orthodox church saw the war as a Baptist attack against the Orthodox church because U.S. President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore are members of Southern Baptist churches.
As a result, Lotz said, Baptist churches in Serbia are being blamed by association for the bombings and destruction.

Baptist War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Baptist War also known as the Christmas Uprising and the Great Jamaican Slave Revolt of 1831-32, was a 10 day rebellion that mobilized as many as 60,000 slaves.
Led by 'native' Baptist preacher, Samuel Sharpe, it was waged largely by, though not only, his Baptist followers amongst the slaves.
The missionary-educated rebellion leaders were attuned to the abolitionist movement in London, and their intention (which failed) was for the uprising to take the form of a peaceful general strike.

The Christian gospel itself is called "the gospel of peace" (Acts 10:36; Eph 6:15), and the Holy Spirit himself produces the fruit of peace (Col 3:15; Gal 5:22).
Peace is not merely the absence of war.
After all is said and done, the supreme task for believers is to "pray for the reign of the Prince of Peace" and look forward to that day when His will will in fact be done on earth even as it is being perfectly done even now in heaven.
